World Wing Fujinomiya (Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka) is physical training facility that opened in April 2023.
The facility focuses mainly on physical training, believed to have benefits in sports, injury prevention, health promotion, and weight loss, with input from orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists.
Popular for its high effectiveness and quick results, World Wing Fujinomiya has a wide range of members, from children to the elderly.

Common issues

The facility is located along a suburban road, so most visitors come by car. The parking lot is located on the ground floor of the building (pilotis structure), so visitors have to enter the building to check for open spots. With only one entrance and exit, cars have to turn around to exit the lot when there are no open spaces, potentially blocking other cars.

Solution

At this facility, vehicle detection sensors are installed in 26 parking lots excluding the lots of condominium residents to transmit parking occupancy information in the parking lot real time and parking occupancy signboard is installed at the entrance of the parking lot. The availability of the parking lot was displayed with the parking occupancy signboard.

By installing a parking occupancy signboard at the entrance and exit of the parking lot, we have reduced the risk of trouble and congestion caused by shoppers and hourly rental users accidentally entering the parking lot.

Effect

Installation of parking occupancy signboard makes it possible for visitors to determine if there are any spaces available in either parking lot before entering.

This improves user convenience by preventing visitors from having to enter Parking Lot No. 1 (when full) and directing them to Parking Lot No. 2.

Comment from the store manager

We’ve only been open a short time, and it might take some time to see the effectiveness of the system, but I think the parking occupancy signboard provide visitors with a more reliable way to find open parking spaces.
The parking occupancy signboard are also easily seen from the road, making it even easier for visitors to quickly know where to park.
We chose Optex’s wireless occupancy management system, ViiK Parking System, because of its ease of installation and low cost.

Comment from the designer/installer

We went over the installation instructions while performing a pre-work site check, so we were able to complete the installation for all 22 spaces in about seven hours without any problems.
We were worried the radio waves might have trouble traveling the 50 m across the street to Parking Lot No. 2, but they were received without any problems during our sample check, so we were confident about the system’s reliability.
