The Optex supply chain extends throughout the world. We have built a seamless supply chain consisting of a series of activities, through which we can stably source reliable raw materials, carry out planned production, and use logistics to steadily and speedily deliver high-quality products to customers in over 80 countries around the world.
Procurement
Many of the optical parts that are integral to a product’s basic performance and the various sensors we use are special-order items, and so it is essential to work closely with suppliers in terms of sourcing the technology needed, etc. We are holding various activities such as meetings to discuss technology trends and other topics and technical networking events for engineers, which are aimed at improving the performance and quality of Optex products.
We are also working with suppliers and manufacturing outsourcers to reduce the environmental burden throughout the lifecycle of our products and services.

Responsible Minerals Sourcing Policy
Minerals mined in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and neighboring countries and conflict-affected and high-risk areas (CAHRAs) are not only a source of human rights violations such as child labor and environmental destruction, but also a source of funding for armed groups and are feared to contribute to conflict itself. In order to reduce the risks of sourcing these minerals and ensure more responsible sourcing, we will implement the following initiatives based on the OECD Due Diligence Guidance.
- We will explain our policy to our suppliers and conduct a supply chain investigation.
In the investigation, we will use standardized templates such as the CMRT (Conflict Minerals Reporting Template), a tool provided
by the RMI (Responsible Minerals Initiative), to understand the supply chain.
- We will encourage our suppliers to procure from smelters certified by third-party organizations such as RMI, and to change suppliers or transition to lower-risk sources if high risk is suspected.
In FY2024, we received responses for 86% of the items surveyed from our suppliers. As a result of the survey, we confirmed that 230 smelters in our supply chain are RMI certified.
Production
Optex production sites operate using a safe and efficient production system. We carry out production of the products we’ve developed according to their designs, and in a factory environment that ensures we can achieve consistent quality. We have also set up systems for educating and training Optex personnel who are expertly skilled and have a high level of work ethics. We have also expanded our production technology capabilities to our EMS and ODM businesses, so that we can offer our customers full support for their manufacturing from development, design and procurement to mass production.

We provide customers with high added value in our global business fields by shortening lead times, reducing logistical costs, and improving reliability with better traceability.

Management of Chemical Substances Contained in Products
As regulations on the use of chemical substances are being strengthened worldwide, our company has established regulations for contained chemical substances to provide products that comply with the laws and standards of the countries and regions where we sell. We clarify the relevant regulations of each country, identify all concerning chemical substances, including RoHS-targeted substances, and obtain and appropriately manage chemical substance information from the design stage of products for the relevant components and materials. If there are any chemical substances that conflict with regulations or laws, we make appropriate judgments and make design changes to address them. Additionally, Optex Co., Ltd., Optex FA Co., Ltd., and Optex MFG Co., Ltd. have jointly created the “Contained Chemical Substance Management Guidelines,” which specify prohibited chemical substances in parts and materials supplied to our company, and we publish these guidelines on our website and ensure thorough awareness within the company and among our suppliers.
Since the start of our business, we have had no legal violations. We continuously comply with laws and regulations and strive to minimize the impact on the environment and ecosystems.
