Introducing TXI Series Outdoor Intrusion Detection Sensors

Equipped with “Triple AND Logic” in a Compact Design for Reduced False Alarms

This new series of outdoor intrusion detection sensors uses a patent-pending detection technology called “Triple AND Logic.” This technology significantly reduces false alarms caused by small animals or moving vegetation while maintaining high human-detection performance. The product has a palm-sized, compact design that matches the appearance of residential and commercial buildings.

Background of the development

In the EMEA region, there is a high demand for high-mount security sensors known as “curtain sensors.” These sensors monitor walls and windows, primarily for residential houses and commercial buildings. Markets across the region require compact sensors with high design quality.
Conversely, conventional sensors have several problems, including false alarms caused by small animals or moving vegetation, insufficient human-detection performance, limited installation locations, and difficult installation processes.

To address the market needs and challenges in this category, for which demand has existed for many years, Optex will launch the new TXI Series, aiming to improve customer satisfaction and expand the market.

Main product features

1. High reliability via proprietary “Triple AND Logic” (Patent pending)

The TXI Series creates an optimized detection area using proprietary “Triple AND Logic.” This technology delivers excellent pet immunity while maintaining the high human-detection performance that Optex has cultivated in its existing products. It significantly reduces false alarms caused by small animals.

2. Support for a wide range of mounting heights and flexible area adjustment

The product design ensures the optimal detection area according to the mounting height, with mounting possible at heights of 2.2 m to 4.0 m. This design supports a wide range of mounting heights and significantly simplifies adjustment work during installation. The detection distance can also be adjusted flexibly using a masking tool.
Using the included bracket, the product can be easily mounted either along a wall or facing forward.

The optional TXI-BKT bracket also enables installation with even higher flexibility, such as ceiling mounting and precise angle adjustments.

3. Sleek, palm-sized design

Compared with Optex’s existing outdoor product, the HX-40*, the TXI Series is significantly smaller and features a compact housing that blends naturally with the appearance of homes and commercial facilities. Made with UV-resistant resin and rated IP55 for water and dust resistance, the product is suitable for long-term outdoor use.

Other features

  • Equipped with a shock-detection function that detects impacts or attempts to damage the product
  • Equipped with an anti-masking function that detects attempts to disrupt sensor operation (Available on anti-masking models only)

Future prospects

Optex expects annual sales of approximately 50,000 units for the TXI Series, primarily in the EMEA market. As a global security sensor manufacturer, Optex has supplied intrusion detection equipment to more than 80 countries worldwide. Going forward, Optex will gradually roll out the TXI Series in global markets, contributing to enhanced security measures across a wide range of applications, including homes and commercial buildings.
