The OPTEX OA-6500S uses active infrared technology to combine activation and safety in one sensor. By using the unique OPTEX presence detection technique, the OA-6500S provides both maximum safety around the threshold of an industrial door and an extra-large motion detection area, even at mounting heights of up to 6.5 meters.

Suitable for Industrial Applications
The OPTEX OA-6500S is optimized for industrial doors. The 1st row has a door cancellation function that reduces malfunctions caused by door movement. Also, the activation and safety outputs can be selected from N.C. and N.O. simply by selecting the dipswitches. And the automatic infinite presence detection increases safety and prevents unwanted door opening due to a sudden change in floor condition.
Motion Detection
The large detection area provides rapid detection of any traffic, including trucks, approaching from any angle. The sensor’s enhanced pattern depth enables it to detect objects farther away and allows the door to open conveniently. The presence and motion detection areas can be adjusted independently.
Easy Adjustment
Installation time can be minimized using the easily set switches and trimmers so that the sensor can be quickly adjusted for many different applications. The use of an OPTEX Infrared finder is recommended to adjust the presence detection area.

- The actual detection area may become smaller depending on the ambient light, the color / material of the object or the floor as well as the entry speed of the object.
- The sensor may not be activated when the entering speed of the object or a person is slower than 50 mm/sec. or faster than 1500 mm/sec.
