Announcement of Collaboration with CoLife, a Residential DX Company
Strengthening the connection between automatic doors and residential management DX, and promoting business expansion with an eye toward overseas markets
Optex Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture; President & CEO: Kazuo Ikeda, hereinafter “Optex”) and CoLife Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Jumpei Ikeuchi, hereinafter “CoLife”) have reached an agreement to collaborate on business expansion. This partnership will involve integrating the functions of OMNICITY—the automatic door solution developed by Optex, a leading provider of automatic door sensors—with iecon—CoLife’s operating system for high-quality and appropriate maintenance of residential properties, with the goal of supporting digital transformation (DX) of the housing industry. The collaboration will focus on the development of applications and systems compatible with various access control methods, as well as the creation of new services utilizing these technologies.
Background of the collaboration
By joining forces, Optex, a leading automatic door sensor company, and CoLife, a provider of DX-driven services for the housing industry, will accelerate the expansion of smart entrance services.
This collaboration will leverage the expertise and technology of both companies to create an environment that facilitates the quick introduction of smart entrance systems at a low cost.

A new service solution that integrates the OMNICITY key SDK into iecon will be available starting in fall 2025.This initiative will be beneficial not only for the housing industry, including condominiums and rental apartments, but also in various other property management applications, such as offices, unmanned stores, and parking facilities. The goal is to introduce this solution to a wide range of industries in Japan while also leveraging Optex’s global network to expand into international markets, including the United States and Asia.
Both companies are dedicated to promoting DX throughout the industry, with this collaboration as a starting point toward helping to create a better society.
About OMNICITY automatic door sensor solutions
OMNICITY adds Beacon functionality to automatic door sensors—previously used only for opening and closing automatic doors—to enable communication between automatic door sensors and smartphones with a supported app installed.This service makes it possible to provide a wide variety of services in addition to automatic unlocking of doors, etc., including coupon distribution and foot traffic flow analysis.
