The REDWALL-V series a high-reliability outdoor detector that is especially suited to remote and local video surveillance applications.
The detector provides the following three benefits:
1. Reduction of false alarms
2. Quick and reliable installation
3. Protection from vandalism
The goal of the REDWALL series is to provide a product that can deliver reliable and efficient protection while reducing total costs.
To achieve this goal, REDWALL-V employs five innovative sensing technologies.
Technology I PIR sensor with double conductive shielding
Technology II Thermo-sensor
Technology III Illuminance sensor
Technology IV Photo-beam sensor for anti-masking
Technology V Three-axis accelerometer for anti-rotation

There are various causes of false alarms outdoors. For example, one fundamental principle of detection is that it is difficult for a PIR to detect movement when there is only a subtle temperature difference between a human body and the background. Another factor that affects detection performance is the temperature, which changes over the course of the day from morning to evening.
Synthesized Intelligent PIR
The REDWALL-V series is equipped with OPTEX's patented double conductive shielding technology. This feature prevents the system from being disturbed by visible light or radio frequency interference (RFI). Because the PIR uses our unique detection algorithm for its signal processor, it is effective for detecting people in the sensing area. The REDWALL-V series can also automatically adjust the sensitivity to match the ambient temperature and brightness. This enables optimal detection performance in spite of changing environmental conditions, such as with the time of day or seasons, and therefore reduces false alarms that may be caused by these factors.
Another factor in false alarms is detection area overspill, in which a detector senses an object out of the specified sensing perimeter. To avoid this problem, installation and area adjustment must be performed properly. The REDWALL-V series includes an area viewfinder that the installer can use to visualize the detection area and mask areas that are not required. REDWALL-V series units are designed to allow fast and proper initial setup to reduce work for the installer.
The REDWALL-V includes functions and features that protect against tampering and maintain reliable operation. The reinforced polycarbonate housing is mounted at a virtually inaccessible height of 2.3 to 4 m with an anti-masking sensor that can detect any object right in front of the lens, while the anti-rotation sensor detects changes in sensor head position and shock to the unit. (The REDWALL-V fully complies with the British Standard 8418 for remote video repose systems.)
The REDWALL-V series is the optimal next-generation outdoor detection system with innovative technology for remote and local video response applications.
